Compare the TECKNET 1300 ft and 1312 ft wireless doorbells: range, power, waterproofing, and which one fits your home best.
Quick answer
Choose the TECKNET 1312 ft model (HWD01990) if you need maximum range and a portable battery-operated receiver; pick the 1300 ft model (HWD01888) if you need a waterproof outdoor chime and eco-friendly build.
Range vs Waterproofing: The Core Trade-Off
Both doorbells offer impressive long-range coverage, but they prioritize different strengths. The 1312 ft model focuses on maximum signal reach and receiver portability, while the 1300 ft model adds IP65 waterproofing and a more eco-friendly construction. Your choice depends on whether you need to place the chime outdoors or want the freedom to move the receiver anywhere indoors.
Power and Portability Differences
The 1312 ft doorbell is completely battery-operated and wire-free, meaning you can place its receiver on a desk, shelf, or even take it to a workshop without worrying about outlets. The 1300 ft model also runs on batteries but is designed as a chime unit that stays in one spot. If you need a doorbell that can move with you, the 1312 ft version offers more flexibility.
How to choose between the two models
- Range priority: The 1312 ft model (HWD01990) offers a slightly longer advertised range (1400 ft) and uses an enhanced antenna for better penetration through walls and doors. If your home is large or has thick walls, the extra range can make a real difference.
- Waterproofing need: The 1300 ft model (HWD01888) is IP65 rated, meaning it can withstand rain and dust. The 1312 ft model does not carry an IP rating in its supplied specs. Choose the 1300 ft model if the chime will be exposed to weather.
- Receiver portability: The 1312 ft receiver is battery-operated and completely wire-free, so you can move it from room to room. The 1300 ft chime is designed for a fixed location. For a doorbell that follows you, go with the 1312 ft model.
