A step-by-step guide to setting up your TECKNET TK-KM063 ergonomic wireless keyboard and mouse combo, including pairing, ergonomic adjustments, and troubleshooting tips.

Quick answer

Unbox your TECKNET TK-KM063, insert fresh batteries, plug the USB receiver into your laptop, and the keyboard and mouse connect automatically. Adjust the tilt feet and wrist rest for comfort.

Before you start: What’s in the box

The TECKNET Full-Size Ergonomic Wireless Combo (TK-KM063) includes a full-size keyboard, an ergonomic mouse, a USB wireless receiver, and a phone/tablet cradle built into the keyboard. No software download is required — the combo works out of the box with Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, and Linux.

Setup steps

  1. Insert batteries: Open the battery compartments on the keyboard underside and the mouse. Insert 2 AA batteries for the keyboard and 1 AA for the mouse (not included). Use fresh alkaline batteries for best range and battery life. Low batteries can cause intermittent disconnects — check them first if you experience lag.
  2. Plug in the USB receiver: Locate the small USB-A receiver stored inside the keyboard battery compartment (or in the box). Plug it into an available USB port on your laptop or desktop. The receiver works with USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. Do not plug the receiver into a USB hub — use a direct port on the computer to avoid interference.
  3. Power on the devices: Slide the power switch on the keyboard (usually on the top edge) to the ON position. Turn the mouse over and switch its power button to ON. The keyboard and mouse should pair automatically with the receiver within a few seconds. If nothing happens, move the receiver to a different USB port and restart your computer.
  4. Adjust the ergonomic features: Flip the keyboard over and extend the two tilt feet at the rear. Set the angle that feels most comfortable — typically 4–8 degrees of tilt. Position the extended wrist rest so your wrists float naturally above the keys. The mouse’s contoured shape encourages a handshake grip; hold it lightly. Take a few minutes to experiment with the tilt angle — a too-steep angle can increase wrist strain instead of reducing it.
  5. Use the phone/tablet holder: Slide your phone or tablet into the cradle slot located at the top of the keyboard. The cradle holds devices up to about 0.6 inches thick. Adjust the viewing angle by tilting the device back in the slot. The cradle is not adjustable for height — if your device is too tall, it may block part of the monitor screen.
  6. Test the connection and range: Open a text editor and type to confirm the keyboard works. Move the mouse across the desk and verify smooth cursor movement. The wireless range is about 10 meters (33 feet) in open air; walls or metal objects reduce it. Keep the receiver within 3 feet of the keyboard and mouse for the most reliable connection.
